Nuclear Arms Don’t Bring Security, says FM official

TEHRAN, June 9 (Mehr News Agency) – Iran is by no means seeking nuclear arms and believes that the weapons will not bring stability and security, said Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs Ali Ahani.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran's policy regarding the use of nuclear energy is crystal clear and in conformity with the international norms,” the Iranian diplomat said in a meeting with the visiting German Foreign Ministry Director General for Asia and Pacific Affairs Volker Stanzel.

The German official referred to the significant role Tehran plays in the region saying, "Iran's cooperation in Afghanistan proved that its role has always been constructive and useful."

Stenzel also called for expansion of Iran’s role in the regional and international affairs.
